Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark meets Lifetime melodrama in this YA mythological fantasy, travel with modern-day Grim Reaper, Moxxi, as they find themself lost in the Northwoods attempting to save the souls of four teenage spirits who seem to be alive and thriving post mortem.
After years of being a solitary Grim Reaper, Moxxi is finally learning what it means to have a family, and every expectation that comes along with it.
Moxxi is a demigod, created by the Roman God Mors, whose only purpose in life, up until recently, was to transport the dead from Earth to their appropriate afterlife. However, when Moxxi is called on by their newfound loved ones to help give rest to the unnerving spirits surrounding their summer cabin, even someone as new to human interactions as Moxxi knows they can’t say no.
Up and out in a flash, Moxxi arrives in a wilderness that is completely foreign to them. The dense forests, woodland creatures, and swarms of bugs that inhabit the Northwoods are unlike anything the Reaper has ever encountered living underground in Prague. Navigating the primal land here feels impossible, but as it turns out, navigating the spirits here is even worse.
Four strong-willed teens call these woods home, and they are a far cry from the souls Moxxi expected to be able to transport. These spirits are powerful enough to slam doors with their might and spin heads with their wit.
