Getting Stronger every day!
February was spent focusing on my recovery from surgery and regaining my strength.
Not only did I want to get back to where I was before the surgery, but I really wanted to surpass that.
In talking to my spouse, we calculated that it was probably 5 years that I’ve been noticeably sick to the point of it inhibiting my ability to live life normally. There were many days spent in bed or going to bed in the early afternoon for the day. It was hard to keep up on daily life, and everything was always a struggle.
It’s nice to feel like I can get out of bed without little resistance now. I am building my strength, but I’m really proud of where I’m at, especially while still being in the recovery period.
I’ve made a checklist that I try to follow every day. It’s ambitious because it’s a list of where I want to be instead of where I actually am, but I’ve been doing good with it. It’s really working out. My pain is even a 0 some days. I can’t remember the last time my pain was so low.
My blood sugars are still a problem, and there are some other things on the docket too, like my weight, but this is an amazing first step, and I can’t wait to see where I am a month from now, 6 months from now, and a year from now. I feel like I have a new lease on life, and I don’t want to mess it up.
Next month we go back to normal!! Here we go!
