Remember that time two MBT books were on the same top ten list?

October was a very fulfilling month. While I was able to take a breather from author signings, I still kept busy.
My first priority was prepping for Teslacon at the beginning of November. That’s my biggest event of the year, and it requires a hefty amount of inventory. I enjoyed getting in the finishing touches for the dragon journals I was debuting there and creating cute little knick knacks for my displays.
Additionally, I had the chance to host a writing workshop for 11 and up. I very much enjoyed that and thought we had solid conversations. The kiddo’s were very focused and worked hard on their writing assignment, which was cool to see.
In some personal news, I was also able to schedule a much needed surgery and begin prep for that in January. I am nervous but also very much ready to have it done. Fingers crossed.
We’re a big Halloween family, so I intentionally create extra off time to enjoy decorating the house and costumes and trick or treating. We dress up as a family every year. This year, we thrift for our costumes and were FNAF characters. I was an evil cupcake. It was fabulous. I was very proud of how amazing my kiddos Elizabeth Afton was – they did it all themselves.
BUT THEN, we had a free promo from Oct 24 – 28 and something magical that wasn’t even on my radar as a possibility happened. Legacy Academy and Immortal Eyes hit the top ten (top 8 even!) together. I saw Legacy was climbing in ranks and asked Dj to grab a screenshot. He happily helped, and I saw a message saying, “You’re going to like this.” He was right. I had no idea book 3 was on the same list and seeing them together was sublime. I definitely squeaked with joy in the middle of the frozen foods section of Target – as one does. 😆
And those were my adventures! It was a full fulfilling month and a great way to set the stage for November.
