First time for everything!

A. P. Goodman with her Trilogy Banner

New month brings new experiences

September was a fun one. Not only is it my birthday month (yay!), but this one in particular had some new experiences.

A new con came to Madison, so I decided to go check it out. Unlike the other cons I’ve done, this one also had celebrities attending.

It drew some big names like Tom Kinney and a lot of 90s favorites like Rachel Leigh Cook.

I was unsure of how this would change the con, but I had a really fantastic time. I was also seated between two amazingly successful people of their craft, and I got to meet a lot of new folks as well.

It also provided me some opportunities to analyze where I’m at on my writing journey and just how far I’ve come. In some ways, it feels like nothing has changed, but in other ways, I’ve grown exponentially since selling a single book at vendor craft fairs that were 20+ MLM booths and me.

With the conclusion of the trilogy, that also really brings forth the question of: what comes next? While it’s easy to answer with more writing, it forces the hand of changing my table setup. I am no longer marketing 1 book or 1 story concept. I’m going to branch off, I’m going to write other mythological fantasy stories, I’m going to have to transition to a brand rather than a product. While my head understands this, the application of this knowledge has been quite a challenge.

Also, writing. Writing has also been a challenge.

But here we are, and so here we will grow. As always, I’m excited to see what lies ahead. I look forward to experimenting with things and seeing how it all develops. Fingers crossed!
