December is a time for family
With the end of the year approaching, the twelfth month offers time for reflection and rejuvenation.
I wrote and edited so much this month. The WIP I’ve been focusing on since June is now over 120k in words (🤯) and I am happier than ever that I decided to split this one into two parts.
Typically, my pieces go through six rounds of edits after the first draft. I am currently wrapping up round three and am hoping to be done with all six by end of January. Then, off to the agent this one goes! Only fate can decide what comes next after that.
I have felt a lot of feelings about the year 2025, but if I keep my sights set on solely my inner circle, it was a good year.
I had a life changing surgery in January that I eventually healed from better than new.
My family had great mental health improvements as well as professional improvements.
I have felt loved and supported and valued and seen on numerous occasions, which I know is so rare and I do not take it for granted.
We had so many fun travels and beautiful vacations and cherished memories made.
And we’re ending the year with more than we started with and in a happier spot than we could’ve imagined.
All in all, I find myself to be starting 2026 in a very lucky and blessed place.
Ending the year with two solid weeks of family time is the cherry on top. We will savor every moment we can and start the upcoming year with love and light filling our hearts.
To 2026!
